Ojala (Aní) Mwalimu

Director of Youth

Ojala (Aní) Mwalimu is the Director of Youth.

Aní earned a B.A. in Diplomacy and World Affairs (Africana studies) from Occidental College and an Ed.M. from Boston College in Urban Secondary Education.  He’s led several schools and has taught history in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Ohio. In addition, he formerly served as Associate Minister at Lincoln Park Community Baptist Church. Since 2009, Aní founded and continues to Chair of Pan-African Connections (PAC). PAC is an international experiential learning NGO, which leads high school study abroad and roots tourism trips to Ghana, West Africa. He has studied and lived in Ghana and Brazil and speaks three languages, including Spanish and Portuguese.  Aní is also a graduate of Ray Miller’s Progressive Leadership Academy, United Way’s Project Diversity Program, and The Lincoln Theatre’s Artist Incubation Program. He is also a founding board member of the Maroon Arts Group and served on Franklin Country Children’s Services Citizen Advisory Committee.
